A Job Announcement Review type is where you review and edit the assessment questionnaire, announcement text and/or announcement questionnaire for a vacancy.
To access this page, select the Assignment Name link for the announcement text or questionnaire review from the Assignments tile on the Dashboard. An Assignment Instructions pop-up will display with any instructions from the HR Contact that sent the Assignment.
The following elements are displayed on this page:
- Assignment: Job Announcement Review. This is the review type assigned to the assignment.
- Assignment Name. This is the assignment name associated with the assignment.
- Request Number(s). This is the request number(s) associated with the assignment.
- Due. This is the date the assignment is due back to HR.
- Returned. This displays the date the assignment was returned.
- HR Contact. This is the name of the HR Contact responsible for the assignment.

. Selecting this icon will display the name and email address of the HR Contact.
- Job Announcement Sections. The number to the right indicates how many different components are included with the assignment.
- View Instructions. Selecting this button will display the assignment instructions provided by the HR Contact.
- Other Reviewers. Selecting this button will display the names of any other reviewers assigned to the assignment.
- Documents. This drop-down list allows you to view or add documents to the assignment. For additional information, see: Adding documents to an assignment.
- Notes. This drop-down list allows you to view or add notes to a assignment. For additional information, see: Adding notes to an assignment.
- Assessment. This is where you review and modify the text for the assessment. Modifications in this section may be entered by selecting in the text box and entering the changes. These changes will be tracked and highlighted for the HR Contact.
- Announcement Questionnaire. This is where you review and modify the text for the announcement questionnaire. Modifications in this section may be entered by selecting in the text box and entering the changes. These changes will be tracked and highlighted for the HR Contact.
- Announcement Text. This is where you review and modify the text for the announcement. Modifications in this section may be entered by selecting in the text box and entering the changes. These changes will be tracked and highlighted for the HR Contact.
Each section may contain the following options:
- Preview Announcement. This button allows you to view the announcement as it will appear on USAJOBS. This button is only visible if a HR user generated a preview for you to view. This option is available only in the Announcement Text section.

Approval Status. This drop-down list allows you to set your approval status for this section. Options include:
- Incomplete. The review of this section is not complete.
- Approved. The review of this section is complete with no changes.
- Approved Pending Changes. This section is approved if the indicated changes are made. This is typically used for minor changes to a section.
- Rejected. This section is not approved. This is typically used for major changes when you want to review another version of this section before approving.
- Next. This button moves you to the next section of the assignment.
- Save. This button allows you to save changes.
- Return to HR. This button allows you to send the assignment back to HR. This option will no longer be available for you or any other reviewers to make comments once the assignment is Returned to HR. This should only be done once you have reviewed all sections of this page.
- Cancel. This button allows you to cancel any pending unsaved changes.
